History:  The Richmond Hill Women’s Networking Association

Approximately two and a half years ago, in the middle of winter, I was feeling a little isolated and disconnected from my neighbours.  I thought that maybe my family and I should move to a small town where everyone knew eachother.  On further reflection I realized I loved our house, our neighbours and our community.   So rather than pack up & leave  I decided to take some responsibility and create the small town feeling I wanted right here in my own community.

Here is how it all started.  I decided I needed more friends and invited a few women to breakfast.   We had a good time and decided to meet again the following month.  A couple of the ladies asked if they could bring a friend.  I said, “Sure”.   At our second meeting we scheduled a date for the following month.  Again people asked if they could bring friends & I said, “Sure.”  This continued to go on month after month and it has been absolutely wonderful getting to know so many dynamic women.  These new friends have enriched my life in ways I could have never imagined.

I now have lots of friends in Richmond Hill and together we have made our Town a better place to live, work and play.  We have achieved this goal by working together.  We have held a number of fundraising events and have supported many not-for-profit organizations in our community including:  York Region’s CIBC Run for the Cure, Sandgate Women’s Shelter (Richmond Hill location), ALS and Richmond Hill Hospice.

We meet on the third Wed. evening of each month.  It is very informal and I describe it as a cocktail parties without the martinis.  Details of our upcoming FREE meetings can be found at www.richmondhillwomen.com.

I encourage you join us.  Our meetings are FREE.  Like I alway say, “There are a lot of similarities between friend and chocolate–you can never have too much chocolate or too many friends.”  :)

Looking forward to meeting you soon.

All the best!
